Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is PUA encoding, and how does it benefit font users?
PUA (Private Use Area) encoding allows font designers to include additional glyphs and characters that aren’t part of the standard Unicode character set. This means that users can access a wider range of swashes, ligatures, and other special characters, making it easier to create unique and creative designs.
Q: Can I use Bestalina for commercial projects?
As with any font, it’s essential to check the licensing terms and conditions. Bestalina is designed for personal and commercial use, but it’s always best to verify the licensing agreement to ensure you’re using the font correctly.
Q: How do I access the glyphs and swashes in Bestalina?
Since Bestalina is PUA encoded, you can access the glyphs and swashes using a font manager or a design application that supports OpenType features. Simply look for the “Glyphs” or “Character Map” panel, and you’ll be able to explore the various characters and swashes.
Q: Can I use Bestalina for body copy or long blocks of text?
While Bestalina is a beautiful font, it’s primarily designed for display purposes or short blocks of text. For longer blocks of text, you might want to consider a more legible font.
