As designers, we’ve all been there – working on a project, struggling to find the perfect font, or tweaking our personal brand identity. My journey with Cabo Rounded began last year when I decided it was time to upgrade my personal logo. Back in 2013, I designed my first logo using Helvetica as a base. While I was pleased with it, I felt it was time for a refresh.

I started experimenting with shapes and strokes in Illustrator, aiming to recreate my identity without straying too far from the original. As I worked on creating characters, I realized the style I was developing could make a great font. And so, Cabo Rounded was born! Within hours, I had my first drafts ready. I was thrilled with what I’d created, and I knew I had to turn it into an actual font.
